Political Stuff

Note: If you lean a bit to the “right,” then you're in the “wrong” place and should probably leave this page before it affects your blood pressure....you've been warned! Here's a photo of the door to my office. Click here for links about the US Presidential Selection...er, Election 2000

By the way...Did you vote for Bush? (in either 2000 or 2004)

First things first...the human race does not own the earth. We are here by the grace of God, and we are doing a terrible job with all the resources provided by our creator. Part of it has to do with the extreme selfishness and nationalism present in both the United States and in many other parts of the world. We are so convinced that our system is the best that we trod on the rights of many other peoples and lands with abandon -- politically, economically, and environmentally.

I think that the only solution is for people who realize the severity of this situation to work together for what might be called “One World Government.” It could be a strengthened United Nations, or a replacement of the UN, but a worldwide democracy, sensitive to of all of God's creation is what is needed. Now, as for our local problems here in the United States of America....

Basically, it boils down to this...the things that the current US Republican (and don't even get me started on the ridiculous Libertarians!) Party stands for are just plain WRONG, morally, ethically, politically, philosophically, intellectually, and any way you want to phrase it. Wrong.

This is NOT to say that the US Democratic Party is all right about the many issues in which the Republicans are wrong, but as far as what's best for our country, at least they're on the best side of the fence in most areas. The hateful, vindictive, obscenely revengeful attacks on President Clinton and the Presidency are just one thing that puts Republicans in the "Hall of Shame." There are far many more issues than I could ever put on this page, such as taxes, the proper role of government in our lives and in regulating business, education (vouchers, anti-public-school attitudes, etc.), race issues, health care, public transportation, defense, campaign financing,....you name it, and they're WRONG!

To clarify...I have well-meaning (but misguided) friends and family members who belong to the Republican party, and I don't think that they are evil people. I just think that they have been deluded and misled, or might be a bit ethically challenged, because why else would they affiliate with a party of hate, a party of "haves vs. the have-nots" -- a party that promotes such terrible policies?

(the following paragraph is an aside, written after the Impeachment debacle)
Despite all their posturing and all the dirty tricks and shameful actions of President Clinton's attackers, the US Senate did the right thing and rejected the vehement arguments of the self-righteous and vindictive "House Managers", who can all rot in hell, for all I'm concerned. BRAVO for the brave republican senators who voted their consciences to acquit the President Clinton!!

Here's a little tounge-in-cheek thing someone sent me that's full of truth:
